River Runs Stables LLC is owned and operated by Missy and Jeff Fedor.
Missy, a native Adirondacker, grew up in Indian Lake, New York. There she rode her horse down country dirt roads and swam with him in the lake. As a young girl she knew no fear. Her love for animals extended even further as evidenced by the many goats, cats and dogs that she came to own. As the years moved on, Missy became a successful hairstylist, and at times had to forgo her love of horses. Her equine dreams would not die though. She met Jeff, they married and bought land in the Town of Corinth, had their family and then made the decision to bring those dreams back to life.
Today, Missy is the day-to-day stable manager. She can be seen outside throughout the day, feeding and mucking, working with and caring for horses and very often talking and laughing with boarders and visitors. When time allows, she also can be seen out on the trails on one of her horses, enjoying her time with her horse - the reason RRS exists in the first place.
Jeff hails from northern Michigan and also is no stranger to the woods. After serving 9 years on submarines in the US Navy, he needed more 'space' and was pleased to call the Adirondacks his new home. He was even more pleased when he met Missy in the mid 1980s, to then be married in 1988. He pursued a career in teaching, and now teaches fifth grade in Corinth, just down the road from RRS.
Jeff's main recreational focus is hiking or kayaking, and is seldom ever seen on a horse. However, he considers working on a tractor, building a barn or putting up fence as recreational events too. For this reason, Jeff is often seen happily doing most of the building and repairs around the stables.
Together, Missy and Jeff have worked hard over the last few years to carve a dream out of the Adirondack woods. They, and their two girls, are proud of their stables and are glad to enjoy the fruits of their labor with others.
